We invite you to join the course on Project Management for Youth Organizations in Amsterdam!

During the course, participants will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of project management. They will learn how to write a project charter, how to determine project objectives, and how to assess risks. They will be introduced to the theory of budgeting. In addition to the fundamentals of project management, participants will have sessions on how to prepare a high-quality business plan, business model canvases will be introduced.

The course is designed for workers of youth organizations, who would like to improve their project management skills. After the course, you will understand better how to design projects and implement them at the highest level. Workers of youth organizations with experience in implementing projects are invited to the course, as well as young people who have never designed their own projects but would like to start.

The course will provide the necessary tools and knowledge on how to design projects and implement plans. If you have never implemented your own projects but would like to get started – this course is definitely for you!

At the end of the course, participants will be provided with certificates confirming attendance of the course on project management.

Program

The program of the course is based on the PMP (Project Management Professional) methodology. In addition to that, we use some aspects taught within the modern MBA courses, such as business model canvas and other concepts. We also include in the course the fundamentals of Lean Start-up theory – MVP (minimum viable product).

The course includes the foundations of Project management – the participants will learn how to write a project charter, determine project objectives. The participants will be taught how to prepare the stakeholders register, how to assess the risks and prepare the risk register. They will also learn other elements of project management theory.

Knowledge of the project management theory allows the participants after returning to their organizations to be more effective in creating the projects. They will be able to draft the projects professionally.

The participants will learn how to write a business plan according to modern business theory. They will learn the content of the business model canvas, and will learn how to write it.

The most fundamental concept of Lean Start-Up theory – the MVP (minimum viable product) will also be introduced to the participants. The concepts tell on the minimal requirements needed for the success of the project. The concept will be especially useful for participants without or with minimum experience in project management. They will learn what are the minimum requirements required for the project.

All the learning will be accompanied by practical exercises. The participants will not only learn the theory, but also will learn how to use it. During the course, participants will be offered to try to practice the theory they learn.

The participants will arrive on Sunday. Sunday is the arrival day. There are no activities planned on Sunday. And there are no meals provided on Sunday. The sessions will be from MON to THU. Friday is the departure day. There are no sessions planned on Friday. Breakfast will be served on Friday. 

Travelling after the course

We offer mini-trips with sightseeing to nearby countries after the course. Travelling is offered for an additional fee and includes tickets and one night stay. Click here to learn more. Please let us know in your application form if you are interested.

 

Accommodation and Meals

All the participants are provided with accommodation in Amsterdam for the whole period of the course. The type of accommodation is a shared room for 2 people. The accommodation in a single room can be arranged for an additional fee – please see the additional services section. Participants have access to the kitchen, which they can use. The accommodation is well-connected by public transport with all the tourist places in Amsterdam. During the program, sessions will be conducted in the classroom, which is within walking distance from the accommodation. Participants will be provided with a detailed description of the venue and information on how to reach it from the airport.

We offer comfortable accommodation where you can stay during the program and fully enjoy your time in Amsterdam!

Visa

If you want to travel to the Netherlands, you might need a visa.  Here you could determine whether you require a visa. Please tick “90 days or less” in the first question. Or just email us and we will advise you.

When you apply to our programs and provide mandatory pre-payment, we provide you with a visa assistance: an official visa invitation letter, which is necessary for applying for a visa. Also, we will guide you on the visa process and consult you regarding the documents that you need to prepare for the successful visa application. We will be happy to look through the package of the documents that you will prepare for the visa application, analyze it and help you to prepare all the documents correctly. Usually, visa type required to attend our courses: Short-term business visa. But it would be better to make a double check at your local Consulate / VFS Center.

Step 1

Please go to your local Consulate / VFS website and make an appointment. Sometimes you can make an appointment only 1–2 months in advance. We recommend doing that as soon as possible and then proceed to Step 2.

Step 2

Please learn more about the list of all the required documents (typically, those documents are listed on the website of your local Consulate / VFS). This list also includes the visa invitation letter that we send. Usually, we send a visa invitation letter within 1–3 days after receiving the required pre-payment from the applicant.

Step 3

With the full list of documents and completed visa application form, you have to go to the local Consulate/VFS on the appointment day and submit them. The fee for the visa might differ depending on the country where you apply. VFS might also apply an extra charge for their services.

We strongly recommend checking all the documents before the submission and make sure you provide the correct information to the Consulate and in that case, you most probably will receive a visa without any difficulties.
