Mastering Academic Writing 1.0

The program will consist of a series of interactive online workshops covering key aspects of academic writing, including thesis development, research methodology, critical analysis, citation styles, and revision techniques. These workshops will incorporate a variety of multimedia resources, practical exercises, and peer feedback sessions to enhance student engagement and comprehension.

Structure: This will be a 10-day online course. Each online session will take around 1.5 to 2 hours including a 15-minute break.

One-on-One Consultation Sessions: In addition to the group workshops, students will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one coaching sessions with me, where they can receive personalized feedback and guidance on their writing assignments and research projects.

Ongoing Support and Resources: Throughout the program, students will have access to a comprehensive suite of resources, including writing guides, and sample papers, to support their ongoing development as academic writers.

Delivery Format: The course will be delivered entirely online through a user-friendly learning management system. Each day, participants will have access to pre-recorded video lectures, reading materials, interactive quizzes, and writing exercises. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to engage with Dr. Vermeer and peers through discussion the live sessions.

Outcome: By the end of the course, participants will have gained a comprehensive understanding of academic writing principles and techniques. They will be equipped with the skills and confidence to produce high-quality research papers, theses, dissertations, and scholarly articles.

Investment: The cost of the 10-day course is 1050 euro which includes access to all course materials and instructor support.

Optional: Students can book 1 day of the course. For example, if they are only interested in learning about writing the introduction. The cost of attending one session is 140 euro. Students will then only receive course materials from that day and no further instructor support.

What will this course not do?

Focus in-depth on methods from quantitative studies. We will not discuss statistics or SPSS. There is room for questions. However, in-depth questions regarding a student’s work need to be addressed during separate coaching sessions.
